“Not every story has a happy ending, ... but the discoveries of science, the teachings of the heart, and the revelations of the soul all assure us that no human being is ever beyond redemption. The possibility of renewal exists so long as life exists. How to support that possibility in others and in ourselves is the ultimate question.”
Counseling, as I practice it, is a relational science and a work of art. I’ve centered my career around relationships, understanding our common human mechanisms of seeing and being seen, and the ways in which those processes respond to abundance and attunement versus adversity and scarcity.
In fact, our work in counseling is primarily rooted in your and my relationship. Coming to understand and trust one another allows us together to explore your concerns, define your goals, and work toward an improved life and orientation to self, others, and the world.
I believe that biologically, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually we are wired for connection. Those of us who do not come by honest nurturance of that connective tissue can suffer tremendously. It’s my hope that in helping you hold some of the suffering, we can rewrite old patterns, heal old wounds, and equip you with the new scripts of the life story you were always meant to write.
